Commencing in September 2014, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of HSBC, the underground plaza of the building underwent a meticulous renovation. The project was successfully completed on January 29, 2015. A historical street map of Central in 1910 was integrated into the floor, accompanied by exhibitions that showcased the evolution of Hong Kong and pivotal historical moments in the company’s history. Notably, the two granite lion head decorations, originally installed on the third-generation HSBC Head Office Building, were rediscovered and relocated to the entrance facing Queen’s Road Central.
