Laminated Glass

Laminated glass is a kind of safety glass, which is provides high mechanical resistance and security benefits. It is achieved through adding one or more interlayers between or among two or more glass panels under heat and pressure. The commonly used interlayer is tonoplast, PVB or EVA, depending on the varying design requirement. South Star Glass can process all 3 types of interlayers.

SentryGlas, an tonoplast interlayer developed by Kuraray, has better impact resistance and weathering protection, which successfully solved the delimitation problem. To fabricate the laminated glass with SentryGlas interlayer, it requires higher processing techniques and should be certified and audited annually by Kurary. With continuous improvement South Star Glass has become the approved fabricator and strategic partner of Kurary. We also certified for the highest security glass level P8B under EN356.

Laminated glass is widely applied for curtain wall, balustrade, automobile windshield, bullet-proof glass and security glass, etc.

EVA Laminated Glass
Widely utilized in applications such as decorative glass, laminated glass within solar photovoltaic(PV) components, and interior partition walls.

PVB Laminated Glass
Possesses outstanding transparency, superior cold resistance, and enhanced impact resistance.

Sentry Glas
Typically used in applications requiring higher safety and stability, it offers a greater shear modulus and tear strength compared to PVB.
